Immuned!

Mom's always right! Yeah, after like a zillions of disagreement with my mom, I agree to one fact in this world - Mom's always right. Always!

My life around my mom has been something like this -
"Don't eat that, eat a little of this..it's very healthy"
"Go out and play and don't be a couch potato. Get some fresh air!"
"Don't watch so much TV....oh common on don't be glued to your laptop. You will spoil your eye sight."
"Do some form of exercise, get up early, don't sleep so late."
"ARE YOU LISTENING?"

Yes Maa...I am!
But of course, I just listened to what she had to say. I did what I felt like.

History repeats itself. Now, I am in my mom's shoes and my daughter, nieces and nephews have taken my seat! Gosh! I must say life is not a bed of roses here. There is a strict condition for being a mom which you find out only after you become a mother - You can never be ill. Never. Never.

You have to be on your toes, what ever be it. Trust me. And only a mom can relate to this! But guess what, no wonder I am a mom but I am also a human being! Sometimes even I give up and thats when the following things happen:

Well, I'll let these pictures speak for a while:

Eating habits:

For a packet of chips,
Any meal, we can easily skip!

Ah, Butter and cheese,
No running around behind us please,
we will freeze!

Chocolate, cake and cream,
Is all what I dream!

Cake is yum,
I can lick my thumb!

Iiiice scream,
Shhh! Need to eat this one alone,
is all that I scheme!

Junk,
Oh! Please give me a bigger chunk!

Cold drink,
I can finish it in a blink!

Noodles,
Mind it, this is not spicy at all,
please give me oodles!

For pizza, pasta and sauce,
Let me eat all by myself,
I am the Boss!

Various activities:

I can talk,
and easily use a smartphone,
you can be in a shock!

Laptop Laptop,
No blinking at all,
please don't stop, Please don't stop!

Late to bed,
Late to rise!

TV,
I can watch from any distance,
I am free!

My playground,
is where I will be easily found!

Blame-Game:

I take the blame for all the wrongs seen above.
It's me who introduced wrong food. It's me who introduced wrong habits.

But in my defense, it's not a luxury thing for me, it is a necessity!
Fast life, low patience level, always less time, ease of availability, varied choices, growing tantrums of kids and lack of self-control to handle all at a time. All this together somewhere forced me to introduce all the wrongs in them.

Whose ever fault it is, whatever may be the reason, ultimately my kids are at stake. Can any mother take it?

Playing a mother and scanning through the 'kind of food' and 'type of lifestyle' which my kids, niece and nephew leads, freaking out is normal. Reasons:
  • Their immune system is getting weak.
  • There is hardly any physical exercise at this age.
  • Eating junk means accumulating the toxins.
  • No walking, running, playing and sleeping at odd hours leads the problems in digestion.
  • The junk food is high in cholesterol and no physical exercise just makes sure that the bad fat remains in the body.
  • TV, mobiles and laptop has just made the mind so engrossed in it, that I wonder what will happen when they reach to high school.
  • To add to their bad habits, the environmental pollution is adding to the weaker immune system in the kids and all of us.
Dealing with so many problems, this is what happens at the end -

Medicines, medicines, medicines
Always brings a sad face and grumpy chin!

Not at my place...as children of my don't need these medicines. Yes, they do belong to the 'spoilt child' category but a big NO - NO for all the medicines. Cause, they are protected by 'LIFE::Dabur CHYAWANPRASH".

Right from start, me and my entire family make sure that how much ever ruckus we face in life, we never ever miss to give 'Dabur Chyawanprash' to our little ones, just like our mom never ever missed it.
We also make sure that all of us have it, to be at the kids service in the bestest of our health. Immuned for life!

The nightmare, the problems listed above, are tackled by just one simple quarter-spoon(for the little ones) and two spoon-full(for the elders) of Dabur Chyawanprash, everyday! The taste is such that Dabur Chyawanprash time is a broad grin time! My mom used to hide the Dabur Chyawanprash bottle after few spoons were scooped out. Now, we hide the Dabur Chyawanprash bottle, after it has been scooped out a few times in a day! Hahaha I don't blame the kids, I am also one of them who scoops more than twice, till today ;) Yummmm!

With kids getting variety in Dabur Chyawanprash, its a complete hit product at my place. But till today, my favorite remain the original flavor, whats yours?

Magical Tail!

When I had my baby, it was indeed time to enjoy and meet all the relatives who come to congratulate us and bless the little one and share their moments. This is when I came across an aunt of mine, who shared heart out with my mom and me.

When she came, my little one was getting a good massage from her granny and was enjoying it to the fullest. Seeing her enjoy the massage, well, all I wanted was to get one too, haha but my aunt became a little lost. She went back in time or was she there with us, I can't say but sure her mind was preoccupied.

After general exchange of greetings my mom couldn't hold back and finally she asked her, "What happened didi? What are thinking about? Where are you lost today?"
She answered, "Just went back in time. I don't know if I have ever shared this with you all. When I had Suraj, my first child, hmmm....his legs were not normal. I am sure you all have noticed he limps a little."

We nodded. I have met Suraj bhaiya few times and yes that was something which everyone must have noticed. She continued,"When he was born, doctors told he had little hope that he can walk. But the doctor suggested us to take him to an orthopedic doctor. We went and consulted the best doctor in the city. Doctor suggested to get a plaster done so that we can get his bones in its place. Newly born child in May, when summer were at its best, we had to do plaster for Suraj. He was so uncomfortable in it, he couldn't sleep or even smile for a while. He kept on wailing and crying night and day and day and night. I used to cry with him too. Such small baby of mine was so uncomfortable in those plasters. I felt soo helpless." As she spoke, her eyes spoke about the pain the mother went through seeing her newly born child in that state. I saw my mother who slowly wiped her tear too. Well, I wanted to hide mine, so I went ahead to get water for both.

Both hardly had any water and my aunt continued with a very heavy tone,"After one and a half month, doctor opened the plaster to check the development, but sadly there was hardly any change. He looked at me straight in my eye. He told me there is little less hope that he will walk, ever. But then he told that we can try one more thing - Massage with Dabur Lal Tail. According to him, it was the last hope. He showed me the way to massage his legs with the Dabur Lal Tail. We came home with heavy heart. We didn't knew what to do. But we didn't lose hope. We started the massage therapy with the Dabur Lal Tail and slowly things started getting back to normal. Suraj was also reacting to the Dabur Lal Tail treatment well as he was out of plaster and who would not love massage five-six times a day. We kept a constant touch with the doctor. He was as happy as us with the kind of improvement he saw in Suraj. He was also positive that Suraj will be able to walk though he might limp a little but that better than not walking at all. Our happiness crossed all boundaries but we kept our fingers crossed. The doctor explained us that the hand pressure get the correct positioning and the oil just increase the blood circulation in that area which is finally reacting well. Plus, the oil develops the muscle which ultimately helps the child to support his body weight."

She still had tears in her eyes, but she was smiling at the happy memories. She opened her back and took out a big bottle of Dabur Lal Tail and looked at me, "This oil has kept my baby away from the pain he might had to face otherwise. This is from a mother to a mother. Massage with this Dabur Lal Tail and you will know the difference from doing the massage from either olive oil or any other oil you might be using. I remember that the doctor we went also shared with us that after Suraj's development, he prescribed Dabur Lal Tail for any other child with similar problems or with no problems at all. For general massage for newly born or growing child, he prescribed Dabur Lal Tail. This is a magic which will keep your baby strong and give her the stamina to walk her life through all the thorns."
I just hugged my aunt and thanked her for that. Quiet obvious, my little one got an instant second massage with the magical tail...oh the Dabur Lal Tail,  magical was the name which we gave to it. After all its only magic which can convert anything to possible!

I massaged my baby with the Dabur Lal Tail and I have seen her walk much before kids of her age. Well, I have seen me losing weight much before other mothers too...run run run Baby...I am right behind!

My Magical Moment!

I got married before I could fell in love! But I was very clear what love is or shall I say, my love standards were set and I give a complete credit to our very own - Bollywood! The best romantic Bollywood characters - Rahul, Raj and Prem, did make me believe on - MMM, My Magical Moment!

MMM - The moment I will fell for him, my Mr right! The moment when God himself will tell me - go for him! Innumerable romantic songs, situations and dance! Anyways till MMM, I need to wait, patiently!

I got married and was waiting to fall in love. Two and a half years passed!

I realized that my Mr perfect was the world's biggest, greatest and topmost - unromantic person that can exist on this planet earth or maybe in the whole universe. He doesn't believe in showing his love or expressing it in different beautiful ways. He loves sad songs, only! He thinks flowers are better in garden untouched and chocolates are never ever shared! If you have it, eat it...then and there!

He has watched 'Lords of Ring', all parts like a zillion times and all movies with weird animals, fight, war, treasure hunts! He never misses cricket or the exclusive 'Arnab Goswami talk shows' whatever maybe the reason! Obvious enough that he likes to watch movies and TV but HE HAS NOT WATCHED DDLJ OR MY OTHER FAVORITES, TILL DATE.

Well, he has not seen whom he has to match too, to make me fall for him! When I tried to forcefully make him watch, well quiet obvious way to escape was a quick fight! We did became best of friends and we just loved each other's company. Everything was good and merry!

I even convinced him to say simple lines like - I love you and I miss you! My mistake. I am sure everyone is aware of this combination of lines:

Zor se bolo,
Jai mata di!

Its set in our mind. Anywhere if anyone says, Zor se bolo, our mind would reply instantly, Jai mata di! Similarly, his mind has been programmed. Before hanging up the phone, like a robot he says, "I love you, I miss you, bye."

I never hear, the love, though! I didn't experience MMM, till now! I was still not in love!

Life just went on with my wish just with me as he was not interested in proving his love! Like always I went to office. In afternoon, office was being evacuated for there was a warning for a bad storm. I spoke to him. He was very anxious and ordered me to rush home and told he is on his way back. My house was not far. I felt quiet weird. Mr unromantic being extra concerned, not bad!

I left office. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was raining or shall I say it was like clouds came down to pour. The roads were flooded, like the entire sea was ready to take the city within itself! People were shouting and kids were crying. It was a complete havoc situation! Me and my friend decided to go to my place. I checked my phone, of course it stopped working. I took a deep breadth and we held hands and started walking towards my place. I was scared, I have not seen sky falling like this.

Everyone passing by, were playing God! Helping others in spite of being in a similar situation! We were holding each others hand, helping ourselves and others together to fight the situation. I was acting bold but I wanted to hold his hand, desperately! I was missing him like mad. My eyes were adding to the water logging. I was scared, beyond words!

My house was not far, but seemed like a mile away! I tried to look, where exactly I have reached and I cleared the extra water from my eyes!

I saw him. I saw him. I saw him. He was coming towards me with a little girl sitting on his shoulder. He came...he came. It was my magical moment. The world froze for a moment. I just saw him. I just felt no water logging. I didn't sense people around me. I just saw him. I felt so strong. My eyes kept on pouring. He came and gave me a hug and wiped my tears!

He saw my tears, in rain!

"I love you! We'll do fine. Now let's go, shall we!" He held my hand and led me!

My friend, few other colleagues, that little girl and few other kids and complete strangers took shelter at my place! The rain stopped and my heart craziness for finding my magical moment stopped!

He was still the same, I was still the same and everything was same but I heard love in his voice. I heard it may be because I wanted to. But my wait was over. I was in love!

Of course, he didn't jump from my window or brought flower or chocolates, or neither did he took rounds around me on his bike, no one slapped him for me, no romantic songs or dancing around the trees or trains or no poems and prose! Nothing! But here I was, in love!

You are my Love!

Your are so Pure,
I feel so Loved!

Your style is Atypical,
Filled with innocence and Truth!

Your love is so Intense,
with absolute Natural brightness!

With time, you remained Unchanged,
You bring out the best in me and Make me what I am!

I did understand this fact a little late, and just blamed myself for being so late. Life was beautiful with love all around!

A beautiful journey from being best of friends to new love birds!
You are my PLATINUM man!

The Platinum Ring!

It was drizzling and was a cool night. Somewhere far, someone was getting married and the shanai's sweet music was filling the room. Standing at the window, gazing at nothing, Sakshi was lost in her thoughts. Shanai always reminded of her big day, when she had applied menhdi and hidden his name. She looked at her hands. There was no trace of it now. It has been twelve long years. But the ring still had its brightness and she smiled and a tear rolled down her eye, all at the same time!

"Maa, I will not go to school tomorrow. I think my stomach will ache. It's difficult, you see, going to school in pain. So, please make good lunch for me tomorrow. I will be home", Sakshi's ten and a half year old kid Shantanu informed her and climbed on the bed.

Sakshi came out of her thoughts and quietly wiped her rolling tears. She said to Shantanu,"Oh! What happened to my baby? Hmmm if you say so, I will not force you to go to school, but you see if you have stomachache, I will make some khichdi for you. Have it in breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will be fine. Rest for whole day. No school, no play, no TV. Just rest. Is that ok Shanu?" Shantanu frowned on hearing khichdi and looked at his mother for some pity. Sakshi had a naughty smile on her face.

With a sad face and eyes filled with tears, he looked up at his mother and continued, "Tomorrow in school, Father's day is being celebrated. We all have to take our Papa to school. I don't want to go to school Ma. Please let me be home tomorrow." Tears were rolling down his cheeks.

Sakshi wiped his tears and gave him a peck on his cheek. She cuddled him and composed herself and said,"You will go to school Shanu and you will go with your Papa. Beta before your dad went, he assigned me the role of your father too." Tears rolled down Sakshi's eyes, she looked down at her hand and continued, "Look at this ring. You know your Papa gave this to me and you know what he told me?"

Innocently Shantanu asked, "What?"

She continued, "He told me that till the day this ring is white, my love will be with both of you. Till the day, this ring holds the diamonds tight, my love will hold both of you. He told me wear this ring always. He also told me to stand wherever and whenever Shantanu would want his Papa to be. Shanu, will you take me to your school tomorrow?"

Shantanu tears were not stopping but he had a happy smile on his face. He said, "Yes Maa, I mean Papa, I mean Ma, hahahaha. I will go to school with you. I love you Ma. I love you Papa." He kissed the ring and hugged Sakshi tight.

Sakshi continued, "Ok, after your school, if your stomach doesn't aches, we will go to McDonald and have our regular meal and ice cream."

"Yeyeyey", Shantanu yelled and jumped on the bed. He was happy. He slept with happy thoughts. Sakshi got lost in her thoughts, again.

She met Sarthak some eighteen years back. It was not the best kind of first meet. She had applied face pack and went to the terrace to call her brother for breakfast. He was standing there with his new friend, Sarthak. Both of them started laughing the moment they saw her. She was red with anger and looked at her brother with her big eyes filled with rage. Without saying a word, she went down and cried and complained to her mother.

Sarthak and Sakshi met frequently, sometimes at home, sometimes at college. But they didn't speak even a word, till five long years.

Then one day Sarthak's parents came to her house with a marriage proposal. They had seen Sakshi and met her few times and Sakshi's family knew Sarthak very well. 'Happy' was a understatement. It was a pair made in heaven. The match was perfect. Everyone was in state of cloud nine and still counting. Just one person was unhappy, sad and extremely angry. Sakshi.

That night, with help of entire family of Sakshi and Sarthak combined, he sneaked into Sakshi's room. Sakshi was standing near the window lost in her thoughts. Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard the door being locked from outside. To add to her amazement, she saw Sarthak standing near the door with a stupid smile on his face. It reminded her of that day when they met for the first time. Her anger broke all bounds and for the first time in her life, she spoke to Sarthak, "How dare you enter my room. Get out or I will call everyone. What do you think of yourself? Get out, right now!" She went straight to the door and tried to open it. It was locked, from outside. She knocked at the door and yelled at her mother, "Ma please open the door. Look at this ill-mannered person, he has entered my room without my permission. Maa, open the door."

Her mother replied,"Say Yes, beta, we will open the door now. Or else, we will wait till you say yes!" To Sakshi's horror, the entire family laughed out loud.

She looked at Sarthak with dismay and anger. He has made her family against her. Before she could think more, Sarthak was on his knees and he said,"Sakshi, will you marry me."

"Hell, no! Don't you understand. I hate you. Oh, hate..hate is a small word. How dare you entire my room without my permission. And without my permission you want to enter my life too? What do you think, if my parents will tell me to marry you, I will do that? Huh! Never, never!"

Sarthak stood up and looking straight into her eyes, continued, "Sakshi, look I can't lie to you. I am not sorry for laughing at you that day! But, but I didn't knew such a beautiful angel would come out of that ugly green face pack." Sakshi looked at him with anger but he continued, "When you had washed your face, you looked stunning in that yellow dress. I fell for you that very moment. Your anger just kept on adding to your beauty! You look just stunning. I used to come to your house, so that I could get at least one glimpse of you. I never ever missed college because bunking college would mean missing a chance to see you. I have told this to myself like few zillion times and wanted to tell you this since I met you for the first time that..aa..that that aaa that..  I I love you!"

He was still looking into her eyes. Sakshi's ego was getting a good pampering and her anger was slowly coming down. He continued, "Since, the first day I saw you, I wanted you in my life as my friend, my wife, my life partner and my everything."

She smiled a little and instead of becoming more confident, he became nervous. He reached his pocket to take out the ring and then he continued, "I bought you this platinum ring. I saved all my hard-earned money to buy this for you. It is very expensive, but you deserve the best. This is platinum, it's rare, unique, precious, it's natural white glow will never go, it is least allergic for the skin, it will....!" They both started laughing at the same time.

Sarthak quickly wiped a tear from his eye and told, "The speech which I practiced, was much more romantic than what I just said. Hahahah I have it written. Wait!" He took out a piece of paper and handed over to Sakshi.

"Read it later, but please accept this ring and say Yes", continued Sarthak.
Sakshi looked at him and said, "Let me see the ring first!"
He said, "Can I...ring....in your finger...just asking?"
She said, "Did I say Yes?"
He said, "Hmm ok! Here!"
He handed over the ring to his lady love.
She saw it and her heart stopped beating, "Wooww!"

"He should have shown me this ring first, I would have said Yes anyways. How can anyone say no to this precious beautiful ring!", thought Sakshi.

He promptly said, "Star for my star!"
She looked at him with a plain face and said, "Yes!"
He said, "Ok! Yaa..What, What? Did you say yes? Did you say yes?"

Before they both could sink this feeling, the door opened and the entire family, Sarthak's and Sakshi's entered the room and they started hugging both! In that crowd, all Sarthak could see was Sakshi and all Sakshi  could see was Sarthak.

Sakshi came back from her thoughts and looked at her ring. Still the same. She quickly jumped out of her bed and went to the cupboard. In her closet was the most important thing of her life. That piece of paper, her first ever love letter. Probably the only one.

It read,

Sakshi....

You are most beautiful girl I have ever seen. When ever I saw you, I couldn't even come up with a 'hello' even after a million times practice in my head, because each time I saw you, you mesmerized me. I used to forget everything after seeing you, even breathing!

I bought you this platinum ring, because this is the best and I want to give you just the best available in this planet earth and beyond it!

I will be with you till it shines,
I will hold you till the diamonds are in line,
Be mine, be mine!

Sarthak

Tears rolled down her face and Sakshi sunk her face in the pillow and cried her heart out.

Next morning, Sakshi and Shantanu went to his school. Sakshi told Shantanu to head to his class and she will meet the principle and join him there.

Shantanu went ahead. Sakshi went to the principal's room and entered.

Principal, "Hello Sakshi! Please come. Have a seat!"
Sakshi, "Thanks Ma'am! I have come here for a purpose! I want to ask you one thing!"

Sakshi looked little angry but she controlled herself and continued, "Is it important to celebrate days like father's day or mother's day? Have you ever given a thought how those kids would feel who don't have their father or mother? How can you and your school be so insensitive?"

Principal understood her emotions and stood up from her seat. She poured a glass of water and gave it to Sakshi. Then she said, "I am in a similar situation like you Sakshi. But I want to make my daughter believe that I am her father and I am her mother. She has nothing less in this world. I will be there where ever she needs me or where ever she needs her father. I am not being insensitive, neither my school promotes such things. But I just want to make these kids stronger and make them realize that they might not have father or mother, but they are no less. They have someone to stand for them at all times. At all times. I have mothered and fathered my girl since she was nine months old. She doesn't know what father's love is. How it feels to travel on dad's shoulder or so many other things. But she has accepted it and she considers me to be her father and mother."

Principal looked at her watch and continued, "It's time Sakshi, let's go our to kids classes. It's father's day. Happy fathers day to you!"

Sakshi smiled with a tear in her eye and nodded her head. She thought in her mind, "Yes, I am his dad, I am his mom! Sarthak will always be there, in me."

She smiled and said to the principal, "Happy fathers day to you and to me!"

My heart happily repeated few lines:

I will be with you till it shines,
I will hold you till the diamonds are in line,
Be mine, be mine!

38 missed calls!

I went for my regular coffee break with Amit. It was a regular boring day!

When I came back, looked at phone.
What?
I just went for a coffee break, right.

38 missed calls in 10 mins! I wondered what was going on!

I checked the number. It was a land line number. I called back.
It reached auto-answer of XYZ company, my dream organization.

Thrilled, excited, cloud 9. All seemed small. I went out of my cubicle with a broad grin. Their HR must have called. But why will they call me 38 times? Ahhh who cares, as long as they take me there. I am sure on fire. They know how good I am. They want me there. Wooowww!

And the phone rang again. Same number!!
My God.
I told myself to cool down and picked up phone with a composed voice.

Me: "Hello!"

Other Side: "What the hell do you think? I will never know with whom are you with?"

Me:"Sorry!"

OS:"I know you are with Ram, God do you understand he is my best friend and you are my damn
wife! How can you do such a thing!"

Me:"What number do you want?"

OS:".....................................Uaaaaa 9898989898"

Me:"Sir, my number is 9898989889."

Be alert, Be safe, Be happy!

With the growing abuse against women, somewhere in our minds, all of us have become somewhat alert. Leave aside night, 'these few men' are not even scared of day light and do such heinous crime.

Talking of Pune, well it is a safe city. People are happy go lucky types and you will find good educated crowd, a mix of family, bachelor, student and working people. But then problem doesn't ask the name of the city and come. We still need to be alert and follow precautionary measures.

I have a very different ways to keep me feel safe. I am sharing my tips:

1. Keep your bag manageable and carry as less things as possible.
When our bag is filled with stuffs, it takes all our attention to find a simple thing. Our purse should have just what is needed.

2. Keep an alternate phone and number.
It may sound stupid, but I carry my new phone with my permanent number and old phone with a alternate pre-paid number. I charge my old phone once a while and it carries number of my close ones. If by chance, one phone get discharged, other will be a savior.

3. Keep a small dairy with numbers of close ones.
When my phone is active, all numbers are in place and as soon as it gets discharged, what then?

4. Keep pepper spray.
A must buy from store.

5. Have a good look at the auto-vala/taxi-driver before you board his auto/taxi.
All of our instincts work, you just need to trust it. So, have a look at the auto-vala/taxi-driver and ask yourself whether you want to board it or not. Don't be in a hurry.

6. Call and tell auto/taxi number to close ones.
In case there are hardly any option to choose for autos/taxis or if you don't feel good or in other situations too, after boarding the auto/taxi, speak to your close ones or at least pretend to (if your phones are just not working) and tell them the auto/taxi - registration number and make sure the auto-vala/taxi-driver hears it.

7. Don't talk about personal issues or your whereabouts in public.
While on a long or short journey, if we happen to be alone, we often find a long lost friend or someone to speak to and we usually speak about almost everything. Be aware of the fact that others have ears too. In public place, please be more responsible and cautious. Keep pleasure talks for private places like home, office or when with some responsible company.

8. Don't take short-cuts just because auto-vala/taxi-driver says so.
Sometimes we are in hurry and to avoid traffic we take short cuts just because auto-vala/taxi-driver says so. Or, even worse, we are new to the place, the sign board tells us which way to go, follow that whatever the auto-vala/taxi-driver says. Don't take a short cut, if you are not sure of it. Everything and anything can wait, as long as you are fine.

9. Be confident.
In spite of everything, you might be in some challenging situation, keep your cool. Look confident but not ignorant. Be alert.

10. Make noise.
Yet if the problem persist, don't be frightened. Make noise. Start talking loudly. Collect as many people as you can. The stalker will run for sure.

11. Don't let anyone feel that you are staying alone.
Well, I am in this situation right now, couldn't help including the eleventh tip. Don't let any one like the person who delivers milk or ironed clothes or vegetables know that you are alone at home. If at all they ask for your counterpart, say he has gone out for work or he is on his way back home.

Be alert, Be safe, Be happy!

I am sharing my smart suraksha tips at BlogAdda.com   in association with Smart Suraksha App

AB SURAKSHA mere hathon mein!

I recently saw video - 'It's my fault'! I totally agree! Don't I!

It is my fault to wear what I want to - it may be covered from head to toe or not!
It is my fault to go with or without people wherever I want to!
It is my fault to put my trust on something called 'humanity'!

Enough of blaming us. We will take our own charge and will keep us protected. I stay in Pune, a city to be in - happy, friendly and safe! Well, I have taken my security in my hands and I follow the same tips for my protection how much ever safe, the city is!

I will stand up for me - AB SURAKSHA mere hathon mein!
1. Awareness
First and the most important part of being safe and standing up for own guard is - AWARENESS. Awareness of your being at a place, people around, possible challenges and the worst outcomes! Awareness of the solution for the same! If one is aware, half battle is won indeed!

2. Boundaries -
You are the best person to judge how much you can take and how much you can fight! Set your own boundaries -
  • With whom you want to be friends with!
  • Where you want to go!
  • What time is suitable for you!
  • Whom you want to access your personal details on the social networking sites!
  • What kind of clothing will be suitable for a given place and people around!
It all depends on you. Set your boundaries right and tight, it will be difficult for unwanted elements to cross it!

3. Sixth sense -
We all have it! It always warns us! It alerts us of the danger! But we take light!
Don't do it. Trust your gut feeling. Be alert! Somewhere you on know that the person, place or point is not correct! Don't go ahead for sake of false ego, attitude or image! Don't be in an illusion! Cause maybe it's actually not worth a try! In all situations, trust but yourself! Only!

4. Uphold -
Challenging situation might come how much ever precaution you take. Uphold your confidence. Nothing wrong will happen - trust this fact and keep your cool because -
  • If you are confident, it ruins those elements' fun to see you weak and helpless and somewhat shakes their confidence!
  • If you keep your cool, you will listen to your mind which will for sure tell a way to escape the situation!
Durga and Mahakali - is you! You will do fine. Uphold your confidence!

5. Responsible -
Midnight stroll, waking on road in a zombie state or planning a surprise visit to a nearby or distant place without informing just anyone, travelling alone in a cab/auto without informing the details of the cab/auto! You are inviting trouble! Be responsible enough to -
  • Take midnight stroll within the boundaries with known people.
  • Whatever the reason may be, walking in a complete zombie state is good to see on TV. Don't try it. Be aware of the vehicles crossing by or you crossing by a parked car. Be alert!
  • Surprise few but not everyone you know by not sharing your whereabouts. Send a friend or a family member your complete itinerary. Be safe where ever you go.
  • Travelling alone in night - ask the driver to share his registration number and send it to your family/friend. Don't ever take a chance.
  • Be responsible enough not to talk about your private matters or about your whereabouts in public.

Be responsible - it's pays!

6. Applications -
We all have phones and be it of any range, most of the phones support various applications to connect to people. 'Smart Suraksha' being a newest and most useful when question of safety is raised! With just a tap, this application sends emergency message along with your location detail to selected five contacts and the police! It is playing God for us, even if the 'badnaam' Indian police comes a few minutes late, your loved ones will come for your guard in whatever way they can, at earliest! Whom can you trust more in troubled times, than your own own own people!

Update your contacts and use it right!

7. Knowledge -
Ignorance is not a bliss, always! Knowledge is not only key to success but also key to be safe.
  • Know the place well or use a detailed map.
  • If you don't know about various short-cuts to bypass the heavy traffic, don't take it. Be late but be safe.
  • Know the people you interact with, just don't become friendly with every passer by.
  • Know the correct contact details of reliable help.
  • Know the people who come to your house to work.

Know everything. Keep yourself updated. Open your eyes, not just to see but to sense danger in light of your knowledge.

8. Surrounding
We all have a routine life, we follow the same every single day. Be aware of your surrounding which follows in your life everyday.
  • If anyone stalk you.
  • If the house-help behaves strangely.
  • If someone at office is giving you wrong signals.
  • If the way back home is not very safe.
  • If the friends you have, shouldn't be trusted too much.

There can be innumerable things which happen in your surrounding, be aware and alert about everything. If anything bothers you, voice it out immediately.

9. Hit Back
Every thing said and done, yet if you face an unwanted element in real - HIT BACK.
  • Hit where it hurts the most.
  • Make a lot of noise.
  • Use your hands, leg, head, stones, stick, bag bottle or anything that can be used to hit them. And hit them hard.
  • Use your pepper spray in a very generous amount.
  • Tap your smart suraksha weapon and speed dial help.
  • Run and hit one more time before you run.

Power is mindset of yours, you are as powerful as much you want to be. Believe this fact. HIT HIT HIT.

10. Avoid
It's better to avoid certain things in life today, like -
  • Avoid going out with people whom you barely know, either in day or night!
  • Avoid going to a hotel or resort or night outs with a less known, over friendly girl/boy friend - if you really want to go, take your own gang along and inform your family about every minute details(which includes phone numbers of ever one going for the party!)
  • Avoid going alone in night.
  • Avoid being the last one to be dropped back home from office.
Avoid anything which you think can take you to any unfavorable situation. It's not being boring, it's being sure, strong and safe!

'AB SURAKSHA' is in your hands too! Take your control and have a good, safe and happy life!

Bigg boss fever!

I am a huge tv buff! I can watch anything and everything but with few favorites of course!

The show currently I just can't miss is - Bigg Boss! With a toddler, at times I have to give a miss, of course for a while, I watch it on YouTube as soon as she sleeps!

I just watched last night's episode and I am feeling so suffocated for the first time, for Tanisha! Had I been there I would have slapped that #@!$€£¥*%§…&%*%€¥$¥?€~€%~%^€…€^]%|£]+…€~+* fellow kushal! What he did, said and behaved was not right!

But then I just wondering if I am being supportive of Tanisha cause she has a sis who is still my favorite! Yaa, no doubt she has a extra point there but everyone had one points like Pratyusha was awesome in that serial, kushal was good! Somewhere they lost their good points and Tanisha earned an extra point which I give to her, solely!

Of course, I am no one to judge and neither am I in that situation, but I have always hated talking small about others and not seeing that rest of your own figures are pointing at you! Watch it, you can be wrong!

Another person I liked in today's episode was - Arman. He told Tanisha on her face that it was evident that she didn't fell! Hahahahaha that felling part was good. Tanisha you should have soiled his clothes a bit more!

Andy, good game player!

Hope kushal remains out!

Today's hero was Tanisha, tomorrow someone else will steal the thunder.

Hail Bigg Boss!

Stay Alert, Stay Safe, Stay happy!

The city sleeps early, I know! But I need to reach to my daughter now now now!

Husband on a medical conference, wife doing her shift in the hospital, six months old daughter was kept with her maternal grandmother. But the new mother couldn't bear the separation and wore her strongest heart and left for her mother's place in a rickshaw at ten 'o' clock in the night.

In 1978, ten 'o' clock used to be night - quiet, settled and sleeping! Not a soul on road! It was also a time when 'those few men' still behaved like human, when they still had some amount of respect and emotions left in them, when they still feared God!

But one thing was still same - Woman. Then also, women were the one who gave birth to the 'man' yet had to demand their respect and position from them. Then also, women followed their dreams and were extremely strong yet vulnerable! Then also, women were face of Durga, yet needed protection. The irony continues!

Going back to the incident, the new mother started fine, but after a while she realized that she was being stalked by a man on cycle. She was brave enough to put herself in control. Motherhood was good enough a reason to give her the strength to fight any obstacles on her way. Her destination was not far but yet she had to cross a long single lane road to reach home. That mere distance seemed to be hundreds of kilometer far to her. The man on cycle was right behind singing loud. And in that spur of moment, God heard her silent prayers. From somewhere an ambassador came and man behind wheels stared honking so that he gets some space to cross the rickshaw. Her face lit up. Her presence of mind worked and she instructed rickshaw puller to not give the ambassador any side and keep the rickshaw right in the middle of the lane. The man in ambassador kept on honking, it was enough to scare that unscrupulous creature. The man on cycle crossed by and went ahead. She reached safely to her mother's place to find her daughter crying bitterly. She ran and hugged her tight. Both cried for a while and both got settled within few minutes.

35 years have made many changes! Ten 'o' clock is still evening. 'Those FEW men' have nothing human about them and women's safety or shall I say female gender's safety, as age has become no bar for 'those few men', has become a major issue.

I am a woman but still can't even imagine half the pain those victims go through. I know I am very strong and I can fight my battle alone! But can I take a chance just because I feel so! Well, I am no Dharmender or Amitabh and I am not ashamed to acknowledge this fact.

I was thrilled to see such an application in the advertisement and I didn't wait for a review or opinion. I downloaded it and checked it instantly. I tried it on my brother. Funny but he was in the bathroom when he received the message "I am in trouble.....", he just rushed out to find me. I was happily sitting on the sofa where he came huffing and puffing and angrily asked, "What the hell is this? Why did you send such a message. Are you out your mind." I laughed and said, "Relax Bhai, I was just checking 'Smart Surakhsha' application. Haha but I liked it. With just a tap I know my personal bodyguards will certainly come running wherrrre everrrr they are and wherrrre everrrr I am! I'll alert you all and I'll be safe for sure and I am happppyyy!"

Back then telephone was an invention but today there is as many mobile phones as many people in the family. I wish the new mother also had Smart Surakhsha with her, she would have felt  bolder and could have called right help at right time! Anyways, thank God for he was around! Thanking God again, for he gave enough intelligence to mankind for such an application!

In my family, we all have put our phones to the correct use, using our presence of mind which we got from our mother. May be this application is not going to give us any additional power to fight, but the moral support it gives is a big thing! Indeed!

Go get your application girls, ladies and all! Put it to correct use and be sate wherever you are!
Stay alert, Stay safe, Stay happy!

Misunderstanding is GOOD!

She said 'HI',
He mistook it to be 'BYE'!

Boy's thought!

Just a small fight,
Can change every site!
Arrogant, snobbish & rude,
Huh! Like I care!
I am a popular dude!
I will find a new face,
There are many in the race!

Girl's thought!

Oh! Why did you come so late,
it had been such a long wait!
Yes, we had a fight,
It will make our relationship more tight!
Relationship is a tough ride,
ups and downs,
everything seems right,
With you by my side!

Fate Ahead!

Their thoughts were poles apart,
True love was not there, in the heart!
They parted their ways,
life opened new gates!

A misunderstanding,
is a relationship test,
to judge it's strength and standing!

Sony Xperia M: Review

Sony Xperia M:

After a very long wait and a deep dive analysis, where my friends and family(most of them are technically challenged, but you never know, they might have friends), dived themselves to research a Smartphone, smart enough for me! Phone came. Came with it few hurdles. Switching from Nokia to Sony is a disturbed afternoon and busy evening, to understand the entire functioning and getting the right settings and uninstalling and installing the required apps.

I did a lot of Google search to understand how the phone is, before getting it. Well, there were wonderful new findings Well, this is my personal experience with Sony Xperia M.

My review:

COST: - A low budget phone - Rs. 13000/Only (LOW, mind it)

MICRO SIM SLOT- It is smaller than the normal sim. You will have to go to the service provider to get your sim smaller.

SPEED- Internet is fun with the speed it provides. But the phone is quiet playful. I will tell you why, while you are surfing net, its screen goes from vertical to horizontal, when you adjust to that, it takes 180 degree rotation and it goes on. Hahaha quiet playful, you see. Of course, if you want it to stop playing like this, you can use to option of 'manual screen rotation'.

APP - There are like a zillion app available for android phones. If you want to create a new creature with your drawing or count the number of farts in a room. Its all there.

PC Connect: Still installing, don't know what. So, now I get to use my Bluetooth more. Oh no, it didn't locate my lappy. Ah, I get to place the memory card in Nokia E63, connect to lappy and transfer. Sony is not letting me forget my Nokia. Lovely phone.

'VOICE INPUT METHOD'- I am aww by the amazing feature - 'voice input method'. Give rest to your fingers and you just need to talk and the 'voice input method' writes for you. Beware, this app don't speak Hinglish. The message should be loud and clear in crisp English, else it will type on your behalf. I just love it. Mere dil mein jo baat kahi nahi, vo bhi 'voice input method' jane!

CAMERA - 5MP camera, smile detector, red-eye correction, auto focus and what not was on the specification list. It was all correct. Only, flash needs some help here. Automatic flash doesn't see darkness. I must say, flash also has a lot of positivity, like me. We both don't see darkness even in night. So, you manually fill the flash. Beautiful images captured!

With fill flash:

Without fill flash:

Above two pictures are better that the one clicked by Nokia E63 2 MP camera. But of course!

Good thing is, people around me were always very upset with number of pictures I capture. All of them are very happy now. I am off clicking!

CALL CALL CALL - The emphasis is because I feel, still the most important feature of a phone is calling. Rest are add-on features. Well, calling is fun in Xperia M. Call feature can be used for two purpose.
  1. Call. If you speak for more than fifteen minutes, it becomes red hot.
  2. You can bake a chapati on it or make tea or maggi. Forget about the increasing price of gas cylinders, Sony Xperia M is here!
Thank God, I won't have to worry about my empty cylinder and double thanks to God, I am not in my mushy mushy phase of life where phone was the healer! My internet balance might be low all the time, phone balance is never low. I hang up in minutes now. My husband is indeed very pleased.

So you see, just one phone has made everybody happy. I would say, "go get it or not!" I am not a Sony salesperson. Sony - Make Believe. Indeed!

P.S.: Reason for me being positive, is my hubby! Mano ya na mano, but even after a kid of my own, I am still scared of my parents remarks and scoldings. My darling hubby has threatened me to use it happily for a year or he will complain. Who told me this "share every feeling with your husband!" Waiting for September 2, 2014!

'Send'

And before I knew it, I had hit ‘Send’.

Oh God! Of course I am good at messaging without looking at the keys. But couldn't I just finish this conversation and message. Damage was done.

I checked my sent-box to be sure of my mistake.
Standing in front of me, she checked her inbox to read the new received message, which I sent, which was supposed to go to another friend of mine.

The message read,"Thr she is. Gng again! Anothr party! All she can do waste her parents money. Gud for nuthing!"

She looked at me.
My heart was ready to burst. Think swarn think, I told myself.
All I could come up with, although with confidence,"This is what I feel about you. Couldn't say on your face so I thought why not write it! I told my view, rest you are on your own."

I walked away!

This is a true incident of my college time. Thanks to blogadda for taking me back in time. I called the 'right friend' and had a hearty laugh reliving that day!

Future Tops!

Life was indeed much simpler way back in time. This summer when I was at my mom's place, something pulled my attention. The simplicity of life back then! This house of mine was built before I was born. Not much has changed since then. There is just one plug point in each room and it looks like this -

Back then, just a table fan or a cooler, TV, VCR and fridge were only few things which needed the charging points. Well, the change has taken place.

Now, addition plug points and extension wire at my place loudly shouts at the dependency on the gadgets which needs to be charged. Everyone at house have their own laptop, one or two mobile phones, camera batteries! Without them, I don't think we can imagine our life any more.

We indeed have moved ahead with technology. It has advanced so much that the world has become just a click away. Be it ticket booking to smartphones of any brand, cosmetics, clothes, shoes, books, electronics, vehicles, home needs, movie ticket booking, food home delivery from restaurants! Just name it and it is available online irrespective of the brand and availability in the local market area. This ease of life has made us a complete slave of technology!

But still for complete shopping freak like me, don't enjoy online shopping for three reasons:

Touch & Feel & Smell

I am more of a impulse buyer. I like to touch and feel things and smell a few and buy! Well, no wonder my husband always complains! But who cares! Ehh! I just love shopping that way. With the way technology is taking turn every now and then, I am sure the future online shopping is going to let us indulge in impulse buying by making us actually touch & feel & smell things!

Well, need evolves imagination and imagination evolves revolutionary gadgets. My revolutionary gadget looks something like this:

All of us will have our own shoppy Top. A part of me would get into the shoppy top. (The shining star is a part of me and I am standing near my shoppy top ;) )

Once we get in, something like this would be next:

Me at the center with the entire range of products to be viewed. I can go in any say my love for mobiles can't ever die. So, I go for mobile shopping.

I can go to any brand, new or old, and have my touch and feel experience and add the product I want to purchase to the cart. I go back, get assembled myself and then get my things on the address specified and pay them online or cash.

Coming back to present, need to send birthday gift to my niece. eBay, thanks I don't have to go to any courier place and I can do it at my convenience! Hail eBay!

P.S. : All images are mine!
